New famous scientist January 2008

famous scientists

I bought my father the collection of famous scientist finger puppets for his Christmas present, but I realised there was one important scientist missing – Dr William Laing. He’s the grumpy one between Newton and Einstein.

patron saint of cheekbones

My friend Drew always pulls in his cheeks whenever he has his photo taken. So do I and my friend Helen. He’s the best at it though.

Angel cards, christmas stockings December 2007

angel cards

I had a flurry of activity before Christmas, before I moved house and finished the first draft of my novel. Here are my angel-kicking-about cards,

christmas stocking

and here are Gus and Otto's Christmas stockings. Gus really liked Aaarghh, spider! by Lydia Monks, and Otto included the pigeon (who finds a hotdog and isn't allowed to drive the bus) on his design.

Otto likes corduroys November 2007

cordoroys

No matter how hot it is, Otto will always insist on wearing his cordoroys. They have a special dancing cat, they are a traffic light colour, and they remind me of the David Sedaris book, Dress your family in corduroy and denim.
